“White Lightning” by White Lightning is a disappointing attempt at rock and roll that ultimately falls flat. It takes 1 minute and 30 seconds before the singing even comes in, which sets a sluggish tone right from the start.

Despite their self-description as “full-throttle, top-gear, pedal-to-the-metal,” the song lacks the energy and originality that one Iwould expect from such a bold claim. The melodies are generic, failing to stick in the listener's mind, and the guitar riffs sound recycled, reminiscent of countless bands from the 80s without bringing anything fresh to the table.
The lyrics feel uninspired, almost as if they were hastily thrown together, and the overall production lacks the punch that a rock anthem should possess. Instead of the infectious sound they promise, you get a bland, forgettable track that feels like a cheap imitation of better acts.
For those who enjoy the glam rock era, there are far better alternatives—like Tailgunner, who manage to deliver that blow-dried power metal vibe with much more flair and authenticity. If you’re looking for something that truly embodies rock and roll spirit, this track might leave you feeling more disappointed than electrified.
Rock Out Rating: 2/10.
